It has been
a a while since my last blog entry. It
certainly has not been quiet out here
in Houston. Rice was very lucky not to
sustain any serious damage and all of
our players and staff remained out of
harms way during Hurricane Ike. It was
a true test of everyone's courage and
resolve to be able to ride out the
Hurricane and have everyone from the
University come together and recover
from the storm.
It is hard to believe that we are only
about three weeks away from our first
game against Portland State. Our
practices have been great so far and
all of our guys are really working
hard and competing up to this point.
We have some great teams on the
schedule, so it will definitely be a
challenge, but our guys are looking
forward to it.
On another note: How good is the food
in Houston? I find a new place
everyday that I say is my new
favorite. The diversity in this city
allows for some unbelievable food
choices, which I cannot complain
about.
Until next
time...Go Owls!

I'm very
eager to be able to give an insight to
all the exciting things that we have
going on here at Rice. We just started
our individual workouts with our
players and they have been very
competitive thus far. We really should
have good balance at all 5 positions
this year and having our guys work out
against each other challenges them to
be at their best day in and day out.
I really have to commend our guys for
working so hard on and off the court.
The commitment and sacrifice our
players make as student athletes is
truly amazing. We are very fortunate
to have such a great group of guys who
love to work hard and get better
everyday. It's that time of the year
where us coaches get to hit the
recruiting trail!
Until next time...Go
Owls!
